What is HeartMath?

HeartMath is a discovery made and documented by a group of scientists about the intelligence of the heart. It was found that the energy from the heart can be measured over six feet from the body while the energy from the brain can only be measured a few inches from the body. The heart actually sends more signals to the brain than it receives from the brain. The real key is the ability to determine scientifically whether we are operating in alignment with our higher nature or operating against it. Are we approaching that unlimited beingness that each of us knows exists within us or are we somewhere else and separate not only from our higher self but from relationships with others. Do we love ourselves for who we truely are and thus experience what many have called oneness?

The State of Ease

There is a "state of ease" that each of us can access to help release emotional turbulence and help maintain coherent alignment between our heart, mind and emotions. Learning to access our personal space of "inner-ease" can be done with minimum practice and in just a little time. When operating in an ease-mode, it’s easier to choose less stressful perceptions and attitudes and re-create "flow" in our daily routines.

There are some interesting choices::

There are three choices as to how we approach HeartMath sessions.

They are:

Accelerated Learning. Four 1-hour sessions. 

Enhanced Learning: 30-minute sessions. All lessons appear in the order they appear in the workbook.

Tailored Learning: Over several weeks or months. Sequence is based on situations as they arise and may involve the use of tools outside of the HeartMath® System. This is usually selected when we establish a long-term relationship.

There are six workbooks. We can chose to use one of them or follow a customized approach taking things from several of them.

  1. Voyage to Heart Intelligence for personal development.
  2. Strategies for Coherent Performance for professional performance.
  3. Personal Journey to Health for health-related applications.
  4. Revitalize You for Enhanced Performance and Well-Being.
  5. Stress Relief is the antidote for the stress of everyday life.
  6. Zone Performance for better performance in and outside the game.

There is also a program called Test-Edge for handling the stress of taking tests. It does not have a workbook and is set up in a different manner. Used with students who are finding it difficult to express what they really know on examinations.

There are many supporting books, media files and tools that are used. These can either be purchased or if available in my lending library checked out. The emWave products can either be purchased or the sessions where they are used will be at our facility in San Marcos.

WE (Wellness Engineer) have many tools that work together. Please let us know how we may be of service. We charge $100/hr for custom programs, from $400 to $1500 for workbook sessions (some include software, books and media) or on long term relationships on a monthly basis at an agreed upon figure. Workbook sessions are paid for at the start of the program.

Notice and Ease™—A Tool for Emotional Renewal

The interconnectivity we experience through cell phones, television and the internet keeps us apprised of stressful events almost as they occur – in our families, at work and school and in the world. This "instant messaging" can tax our emotional systems. Ongoing emotional reactivity to stress can lead to uneasiness and anxiety.

We can’t transform draining emotions until we learn to admit what we are feeling and how our bodies are responding. By admitting a feeling, whatever it is – worry, anxiety, frustration, anger, hurt, resistance, numbness or even a vague disturbance we can’t put our finger on – we slow down the emotional energy running through our system. Being honest about naming what we are feeling helps regulate our emotional energy and gives us more power. We can then redirect emotional energy to work for us instead leaving us feeling drained throughout the day.

Use Notice and Ease as soon as you start to feel anxious, tense, worried or sad. It’s important to notice – become emotionally aware and acknowledge what you feel – and ease – befriend the reaction by holding it in your heart, then letting the feeling ease out of your system. If you try fighting your feelings or pushing them away, they will only gain energy. Befriending your feelings with the Notice and Ease tool takes the intensity or steam out and helps you clear the passing energy. Keep using this tool for one minute or longer, until you feel something lighten up, even if you don’t get an immediate complete release.

Notice and Ease is the basic tool for identifying and neutralizing unwanted emotions. You can learn to release a lot of disturbed feelings and stop their energy drain by doing the following simple steps:

  1. Notice and admit what you are feeling.
    (In the first step, noticing and admitting what you are feeling requires slowing down and taking stock.)
  2. Try to name the feeling.
    (In the second step, try to name the feeling – like anxiousness, Depression, frustration, a vague discomfort and so on. Just naming the feeling to yourself helps you admit what you are feeling.)
  3. Tell yourself to e-a-s-e as you gently focus in the heart, relax as you breathe, and e-a-s-e the stress out.
    (In the third and final step, as you tell yourself to ease in your heart, relax and ease the stressful emotion out, just feel as if the unwanted emotion is leaving your system. Don’t force it out; ease it out.)
